A Trouble Shared

Girls’ Trip: A Trouble Shared

A Trouble Shared

“A trouble shared…” each of us holding one side of the load made the trip easier. The burden isn’t nearly as great when you have someone to help you. I think everyone can relate to this image and that is why Jesus uses it. As a mother you give your child the lighter bag when they are small, you carry their bag for them when they are weighed down. And went the trouble is great, having someone to help is a blessing. Friends are truly a blam for troubled hearts.

Girls’ Trip

I was blessed this weekend to be able to see “my girls”. Before Covid we would meet up every three months or so for an over-night hang. Buth this was the first time we’d seen each other all together in two years. Having friends that I have known for more than thirty years is a treasure. Being able to laugh, talk, play cards, share meals and see each other face to face was one of the best experiences I’ve had in ages.

Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile & who love you no matter what. – unknown

Chosen Family

Families aren’t always born to each other. Sometimes, you’re scattered far and wide, separated by years and miles. But inevitably, you find your way into each other’s lives because in every way that matters, you are kindred. Here’s to chosen family.  – Nanea Hoffman

Share Each Other’s Burdens

The best teachers model their lessons and God did that for us. He took our load and gave us the freedom to move. He sent His son to show us the way. Jesus gathered friends, disciples, and illustrated His love for all of us through His interactions with everyday people in the world. Friends are God’s gift to us. It doesn’t even seem possible that there are people who, despite being no relation to you, love you more than anything in the world. I came away from my trip this weekend lighter, freer, fuller. We shared each other’s burdens and, miraculously, they all became lighter.

1 Corinthians 13

Matthew 11: 28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
