Fever Dream

Fever Dream

Fever Dream

When I was little, I got sick all the time. By the time I became a teenager, I was frequently injured, but didn’t get sick much because I was always in sports. So, when I got very sick as a teenager it really stuck out in my mind. I don’t remember what was wrong, I just remember that I was incredibly ill. What I do remember is one night when I had a particularly high fever, something happened. The strange part about what I’m about to tell you is that I remember it so vividly so many years later.

Fever Dream

Warrior Angels

I was in my bed but could also see my bed from a distance. Burning with fever, I lay, uanable to lift my head from the pillow let alone move around. Everything was pitch black – so dark everything faded to nothingness to such. degree that it looked like the small well-lit circle around me was a floating ball.  Encircled around my bed, great warrior angels stood guard, all calmly talking at once. It is difficult to explain how it sounded. even though they were all speaking at once, every one of them could hear and understand what all of the rest were saying simultaneously. It wasn’t load, no one was shouting, but they were all concerned.

He commands His angels regarding us

Circle The Wagons

They were all facing inward toward me and the light dropped off immediately behind their backs. That was what made me realize that the light was coming from them. I could hear and understand them all too and, even stranger was the fact that they were all talking about me. I don’t remember what they said. I didn’t at the time either, but when I awoke from that fever, I felt as if a battle had been faiught and won around me.

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

God is Faithful

God is faithful to us. There are countless battles in which He has intereceded on our behalf about which we  will never know. Nearlt thirty years later that dream is still vivid in my mind and continues to leave me with the same feeling of protection and grace as it did at the time. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Acts 2

Psalm 23 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
