Testimony
People are used to hearing and reading testimonials, but it’s been a long time since I heard someone share a testimony. Not that I haven’t heard how God has worked in people’s lives, maybe the word has fallen out of favor… perhaps the sentiment. Either way – I miss it. As a child, one of the most exciting parts of the day was 7pm when Unshackled would come on the radio and we could listen to the story of men and women whose lives had been changed in some miraculous way by God. The stories were riveting and emotional. They were produced like old-time radio shows with sound effects and kept you on the edge of your seat.
Determination
One time Mom and I were driving through New Jersey. I don’t remember where we were going, just that it was an hours-long trip on a cold autumn evening. We were listening to the story when the reception started to go. Mom had recently had her antenna ripped off the car and it was loose on the passenger side. The only way to continue to listen was for me to hold the antenna onto the spot where it would have been connected to the car. It was freezing and my hand was stiff with cold. The wind whipped through the open window and we pulled our coats tighter and pumped the heat. The testimony was too important to miss.
The Workers Are Few
In Matthew 9:37 [Jesus] said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” In other words, many people needed to hear the good news but too few people were willing to share. This message has been on my heart for a while now. I began writing this blog as a way to heal after my car accident and it has helped me tremendously. But, I want it to help others too. If sharing my testimony is what I need to do to spread the good news about Christ then that is what I will do! I have shared so many stories about how God has moved in my life and this series will be a collection of the countless ways He has saved me.
What’s Your Testimony?
To that end, I invite you to share how God has moved in your life. What amazing things have happened to you that could only be God intervening? When were you prevented from doing something that could have hurt you? Did something come at just the right time to make use of? Maybe there was a time you felt absolutely at the end of your rope and God stepped in? I’d love to hear your story!
Be Blessed and Keep Thriving!
