40-Day Challenge: Day 35

This is a big deal. At this point, we are only five days away from completing the 40-Day Challenge! Thank you for taking this journey with me! I have been struck repeatedly by how often we are encouraged to trust the Lord throughout this task. I am compelled by how often we are given an assurance that we need not worry because God is bigger, greater, an overcomer, the messiah. I know we are supposed to take everything on faith and just with it, but I am grateful that while God would like that, He understands that we are still mere mortals with very mortal sensibilities.

this!

This!

Occasionally I will find something so impressive, inspiring, or just all-around amazing that I have no words to describe it when I share it. When that has been the case I write only, “This!” It is enough of a statement of support for what I have seen or read that everyone who sees the post understands immediately. That is the way I feel about today’s verse. It’s like when you have a big brother, cousin, or dad who comforts you when you’ve been beaten down by saying, Yeah, like is tough. Those kids who beat you up will stay tough but don’t worry; I’ve beaten all those guys before. So you’re good – they can’t beat me.

The Kid With All The Cousins

It’s hard to describe the comfort derived from that, but as a child who grew up fighting, I can assure you that the kids with all the cousins to have their backs – did just fine. Just imagine, we have God on our side. Ahhh, there seems to always be a VeggieTales song for that, “God is bigger than the boogieman. He’s bigger than Godzilla and the monsters on tv. Oh God is bigger than the Boogie Man, and He’s watching out for you and me!”

What are some of your biggest takeaways from the challenge so far?
