Life Insurance
I’ll be honest, when I was young, I never thought about life insurance. Why would I? When you’re young, you think you’re invincible. It wasn’t until I had my first child that I began thinking about it. It wasn’t that I hadn’t valued my life before – it just suddenly became clear that my life seemed to be worth so much more now that someone was depending on me. Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about it since the unexpected passing of my dear friend.
Whole Vs. Term
Whole life insurance is permanent insurance and isn’t dependent on a job or anything. As long as you pay the premiums – you or your beneficiary will get paid at some point because you own it. Term insurance is more like renting insurance. You have a set period in which, if you die, your beneficiary will get paid. But, if you die after that period is over, nothing is paid out because you don’t own it.
Why are you talking about this, Heather?
Are you planning on selling us insurance?
What’s your point?

Eternal Life Insurance
The point is that tomorrow is not promised. Things happen and sometimes we are caught unexpectedly. One thing I would NOT want to be caught without is Eternal Life Insurance. The best part about this insurance is that there is no term, no riders, no clauses, or any stipulations that would keep you from claiming your full benefit. It’s only Whole life. In fact, you don’t even have to pay a premium because it’s already been paid in full by the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s free for the taking. You just need to ask to receive.
No-Cost Benefits
We all love it when our job includes some kind of life insurance or no-cost benefits like free legal advice, last will and testament service, or financial counseling. I can’t claim that there are any no-cost benefits to following Christ. The cost was monumental and it was paid for at the cross. However, each and every benefit was freely given. Not only do we spend eternity in heaven, but we also have His blessings and protection here on earth. We get the Holy Spirit to remind, teach, convict, and guide us. Because His son stood in the gap for us, we can speak directly to the King of Kings. A heavenly host of angels can be called on or sent to our aid. And, best of all, we have access to a plan and purpose for our lives that is so great, so immeasurably wonderful, that it is more than we can ask for or imagine.
So, the next time you think about insurance for your car, home, or life – make sure you’ve already secured your eternal life insurance policy, and don’t forget to give out LOTS of referrals.
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
