The Forty-Day Challenge
Hello friends!Welcome to the Forty-Day Bible memorization Challenge!
I’ve decided to challenge myself and my family for the next 40 days. One of my children will be headed off to college in the Fall, and there has been this gnawing conviction in me that I have not spent nearly enough time having them memorize God’s. It’s not that I want my children to memorize scripture for the sake of memorizing it. Rather, I know that there have been countless times in my life when the Lord has spoken to me in times of need through His word.
Can You Recognize His Voice?
Have you ever picked up the phone, and without looking at the caller ID, you know who it is just by the person’s voice on the other end? Has there been a time in your life when you discerned that something was off about a situation because what you were told someone said – didn’t sound at all like something they would say? Did you ever not know what to do and the voice and advice of a loved one echoed in your mind at just the right time?
He Speaks To Us
Bible memorization is a great way to get to know God. Knowing His word teaches us to recognize His voice. In addition, memorizing scripture allows the Holy Spirit to bring to mind God’s word when we need it. To that end, I will be posting a bible verse and scripture reading each day for the next 40 days. We’ll keep you up to date with how God has moved in our spirit as we progress, and I would love it if you would join us and share how God has blessed you through your journey as well.
